As a Ph.d. candidate in the School of Community Resources & Development at Arizona State University, Kevin's roles as both a research assistant on leisure experience and instructor of "Leisure & Quality of Life" offer opportunities to explore and discuss innovative research methods and pedagogical praxis related to leisure. Kevin's dissertation research stems from his engagement at transformational festivals, and the guiding research question seeks to explore if, and if so, in what capacity, festivalgoers implement knowledge and skills learned on festival grounds once they return to daily life practices in their residential neighborhoods and communities. As an active co-contributor to transformational festivals, his roles as a workshop facilitator and volunteer have offered opportunities to share information and generate knowledge while providing civic service and engagement with an ever-evolving tribe of visionary artists and community change agents working towards a sustainable future together.
