Currently, a faculty member at a teacher preparatory program at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, USA. Dr. Austin teaches introductory courses in Pedagogy and Active Learning, and Learner-Centered Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. Also, he teaches Master level courses in Educational Philosophy, American Education History, Research in Education, and Secondary Teacher as Constructivist Leader. He was a high school teacher for 14 years before moving into higher education. In high school he taught courses in painting, traditional and digital photography, sculpture, drawing, art history, world cultures, world history, and aesthetics. He holds a rare degree combination of MFA (Studio Art) and a PhD (Curriculum and Instruction), both from The University of Texas at Austin, USA.
Less
