Preliminary Examinations

I'm currently working on a series of articles that explore what happens when one views religion as an evolutionary process with which human groups use myth and ritual to know and adapt to the powerful forces that they fear might overwhelm them. These explorations have led me to tentative conclusions on issues such as the relationship between religion, science, and philosophy; a redefinition of the sacred and profane as ways of experiencing the world; and why the many different, even contradictory, descriptions of religion can all be valid.
