Julie Kantor is a Ph.D. student in American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin where she utilizes an interdisciplinary approach that blends visual studies and affect theory in her study of reality television and class. She is also an artist with an M.F.A. in Poetry and a B.A in Literature/Creative Writing from Columbia University. Her poetry has been published in Boston Review, A Public Space, Los Angeles Review of Books Quarterly Journal and others. Her chapbook, LAND, was published by Dikembe Press in September 2015. Her work was translated into Ukranian for a new modern American poetry anthology, Young Poetry of the U.S. in 2016. She has also published non-fiction work and artist talks.
