  John Green was born and educated in the United Kingdom and currently serves as a Professor in Theatre at Columbia College Chicago where he directs the Graduate program in European Devised Performance Practice, and teaches Stage Directing at the undergraduate level. His research interests encompass Physical and Devised Theatre; Performance as Research; Performance and Ethnology; Interdisciplinary Performance, and staging the late plays of Samuel Beckett. As a professional theatre director, he has staged award-winning productions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Slovenia, France and Russia.
