  For the last 18 years I have worked in the distance-online-flexible learning field in a number of capacities from instructional designer to director of distance education to associate dean of extended learning. Currently, I am a faculty development specialist at a large, public university in Canada helping faculty make the transition from face-to-face to online teaching. I work mainly with the instructors in the Faculty of Arts where I feel I have the most to offer. I have a PhD in biblical studies and have many years experience working as a 'regular academic' in that field in both 'traditional' and online programs.
