Dr. Jayshree Chander is a practicing physician by profession, performing artist by obsession, writer by accident, and a yogini by temperament. She is board certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, as well as Family and Community Medicine. She earned a doctoral degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a graduate degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of California-Berkeley, both of which qualify her as a veritable modern day honorary hippie. The bulk of her service in medicine has been devoted to the homeless, uninsured, and medically underserved. She volunteered for nearly a year serving the survivors of the Union Carbide Gas Disaster in Bhopal, India. She has been nominated "Most Inspiring Teacher" by medical students at the University of California-San Francisco. She maintains a blog and podcast about prioritizing well-being, Nei Jing Now! (www.neijingnow.org) and is the founder of Beyond Holistic, an interdisciplinary practice aimed at giving people practical tools to build their health assets (www.beyondholistic.org)
