Jaimie O’Gara is a doctoral student at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas, and recipient of the Recruitment Graduate School College Fellowship. Jaimie completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Truman State University and earned an MSW from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).
Jaimie participated in various program evaluation projects as a graduate student worker at the UNO. Upon graduation, Jaimie, along with colleagues presented findings on the Nebraska Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program evaluation project at the National CASA conference in Grapevine, TX. Jaimie collaborated with colleagues to publish these findings in the Child and Adolescent Social Work Journal.
Jaimie is currently a licensed independent social worker (LISW) and certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC). Jaimie hopes to continue to improve outcomes for children by contributing to research on promoting healthy families through improved parenting with an emphasis on the fathers’ role to child development and well-being.
