  I have had a lengthy career in public policy related to children and families. Over the past 20 years, I have become convinced of the critical importance of the early years, not only as a foundation and key to success for every individual child, but as the most effective means of addressing the serious and damaging inequities in society. My career has provided me with the opportunity to collaborate with many community and non-profit organizations who are advocating for and implementing this principle both within my home country of Canada and around the world. Mobilizing knowledge of the importance of early child development is a priority in my current role as Chair of Research for the School of Health Science and Community Services at Red River College.
