  Isabel Nunes van den Hoven is a Research Master's student in International Development Studies at the University of Amsterdam. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Neurosciences (including a minor of 5 months at the Pontificia Universidade Católica, Rio de Janeiro) and a Pre-master's Degree in Globalization and Development Studies at the University of Maastricht. Her research interests include themes on urban governance, social and gender justice, social movements and inclusive citizenship. She has recently conducted 4 months of fieldwork in Uganda for a Research Master's dissertastion which aims at contributing to the visibility of the problems and needs of elderly women in Budondo, Uganda, as well as identifying the contributions these women make through mechanisms of collective action to the social and economic development of their households and communities.
