Inge Panneels is a freelance artist who founded IDAGOS in 1998, designing and making bespoke architectural or sculptural glass pieces.
IDAGOS has developed a reputation for large-scale public art commissions for private and corporate clients, such as the NHS, Lloyds TSB, Scottish Executive… The driving force behind commissioned work is a desire to work with the given context of space and light and respond appropriately to the client’s brief whilst maintaining a visual integrity.
In addition, Inge also develops sculptural works, exploring a central theme through a body of work that may last a few years, such as “Creation” series based on universal mythology (now in Dexia collection, Brussels, Belgium) and “Sanctuary” (now in Ebeltoft Glass Museum, Denmark). The current series of work is centred on mapping (The Liverpool Map, Liverpool Museum, UK).
Inge is also a part-time senior lecturer at the University of Sunderland Glass and Ceramics Department, based at the National Glass Centre.
