Dr. Zhan, Heying Jenny is currently a tenured associate professor in the Department of Sociology and affiliated professor in the Gerontology Institute at Georgia State University. She was the President of the International Association of Long Term Care Directors and Administrators--the U.S. Branch (2015-2017). She was als elected President of North American Chinese Sociologist Association (2010-2012). She has been actively involved in long term care rsearch in China and about Chinese and Asian Americans in the U.S. in the last two decades. She was a Fulbright Research Fellow twice conducting research in China regarding long term care. She was also the key researcher to operationalize the research on recent developments in institutional long term care in China funded by NIA-Fogarty International Research Grant. Her publications in various international journals of 30+ articles have been widely cited by international scholars. She teaches courses of sociology of globalization, global aging and social policies at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She has dedicated herself to the knowledge and improvement of long term care between China and the U.S, through teaching, research, and international exchange.
