  Dr. Solh has been working in the field of education for the past 20 years, the first few of which were spent teaching high school Mathematics in Saudi Arabia and in the United Arab Emirates. He earned his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2009, and has been working at the American University in Dubai as an assistant, then associate, and now a full professor of Mathematics during the past 10 years. His areas of interest include students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics and incorporating useful technological tools in the teaching and learning process. He has published a book, articles in refereed journals, and presented at numerous Mathematics education conferences worldwide. Dr. Solh is an active member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), an avid reader on politics, philosophy, and technology, and a passionate sports fan.
