  Harriet Bernstein is a dual citizen of the United States and Israel. She is a published author, critic, and a workshop leader. She has been invited to lecture and conduct workshops at national and international art conferences, including The Aesthetic Realism Foundation in New York City, Florida Art Education Association, Tampa, and the University of Northampton, England. Her concise and passionate approach to writing and speaking has revealed new meaning in the lives of seminal figures in the visual arts, literature, the cinema and television. Her subjects include the important social documentarian photographer, Marion Post Wolcott; photojournalist, Tina Modotti; Carole Lombard, actress; comedienne, Lucille Ball; French writer and feminist, Juliette Lambert. She has been published frequently in the international periodical, "The Right of Aesthetic Realism to Be Known," on the subject of a woman's self-expression and integrity in relation to the art way of seeing--in photography, literature, ethics, and social justice. Ms. Bernstein edited the seminal text by colleague and husband of 45 years, Len Bernstein, "Photography, Life, and the Opposites," published by Delia Press with a foreword by Pulitzer Prize winning author Dr. Robert Coles.
