Graham Livesey is an Associate Professor in the Architecture Program (Faculty of Environmental Design) at the University of Calgary where he has taught design, architectural history, and urban design since 1991. He holds a professional BArch degree (1984) and a post-professional MArch degree (1991), both from McGill University. He was the Associate Dean (Academic - Architecture) during 2009-10, Director of the Architecture Program (2000-2006), and was a principal of Down + Livesey Architects (1995-2004). He is currently a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Architectural Education and an advisor the journal Architecture + Ideas. He has published two books with the University of Calgary Press: Passages: Explorations of the Contemporary City (2004) and Gordon Atkins: Architecture 1960-1995 (2005). His current research examines ecologies and the contemporary city, and questions of agency and territoriality.
