I took my first degree in Ancient and Modern History at Christ Church, Oxford, where I stayed for my MSt and DPhil. After a year teaching as a stipendiary lecturer at Merton College, I returned to Christ Church as a Junior Research Fellow, until being appointed to a Lectureship at the University of Exeter in 2012. My current project is a study of classical culture and the book across early modern Europe; my first book, Reading the Roman Republic in Early Modern England, was published by Brill in 2012.
