Prof. Felicidad Galang-Pereña, Ed.D., finished her Bachelor of Arts degree, major in Journalism at the Faculty of Arts and Letters, University of Santo Tomas (UST) in 1978, magna cum laude. She worked for almost a decade as Corporate Communications Editor at the Land Bank of the Philippines, a government financing institution. After her early retirement, she set up her own Pre-School in her family’s place of residence, Better Living Subdivision, Parañaque, which served the children of the community for eight years. She took up a Diplomate in Early Childhood Education from the College of Family Life and Child Development of the University of the Philippines (UP), Diliman, Q.C. She also pursued a Masters in Special Education from the Philippine Normal University (PNU) and completed her Masters in Literature from the UST Graduate School. At present, she facilitates both Literature and Journalism classes in her alma mater, but has never forsaken her other passion—writing, as she contributes to the Philippine Star on a regular basis and edits journals and newsmagazines. Her study on “Focus Group Research: Assessing Potentials for Collaborative Research,” was included in the book “New Literacies: Reconstructing Language and Education” by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. She finished her Doctor of Education in Curriculum Development and Instruction at the UST Graduate School in summer of 2014, summa cum laude
