Kirkuk Preliminary RGA_Week 2 Assigment_Fairouz Hassan

Dear Amelia,

Kindly find the attached a preliminary Rapid Gender Analysis (RGA) of Kirkuk which can be referenced for the upcoming assessment this should support ensure that gender is included in all facets of future and/or expanded work by the INGO’s in the region.

It’s important to pay a good attention to the following aspects:

  • The preliminary RGA is conducted as an entry point to design a well-focused RGA based on the recommendation from this report has been undertaken from December 2nd 2019 to December 5th 2019 Research methods for this RGA focus on secondary data review of existing gender information available. Research is still continuing and the RGA will be updated appropriately when new findings and recommendations are produced
  • Working with displaced people in the Kurdish Region of Iraq requires a response that understands and responds to the different needs of women, men, boys and girls. Gender relations in Iraq across all the communities, affect every aspect of their lives which needs to be considered as a cross-cutting issue in the assessment.
  • For the WASH services most of the data available is gendered blind, so more in-depth data analysis needed to reach to a comprehensive assessment that mitigate the protection risks that associated to the planned activities.
  • Please design the assessment in a way the reflect all the recommendations that this reports is producing and feel free to reach out to me in case of any extra analysis needed.
  • More data collection needed to identify the risks associated with the menstrual health and all the risk area’s in the WASH activities as the KAP survey didn’t cover this area.

Best of Luck.

Fairouz.
