Eric Zvaniga is currently a full-time Lecturer in the Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus, as well as the acting lead for the Vantage One Management stream at the Okanagan campus.
Eric is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Athabasca University, Faculty of Business. He holds an MBA in Project Management from Athabasca University (2009)
Previously he was employed as the Global Data Strategy Manager, Data Governance & Strategy, Cisco Systems Inc. Eric’s professional experience across different industries and entrepreneurial engagements provides a unique insight into strategic approaches impacting corporate transformation (UBC, Cisco Systems Inc., Idea People, and IBM).
Innovation, collaboration, and global holistic considerations are fundamental to Eric’s experience, education, and early career achievements. Eric holds an IBM Invention Disclosure for designing a “Point of Sale Authorization Terminal” in 1979. In the mid-1990s, Eric chaired, spoke, and published on collaborative computing and in data warehouse conferences throughout North America. Extending his passion for ideation and strategy, while CEO and founder of Idea People (a Canada-based consulting firm), Eric and his team, working as a Lotus Notes Partner, created innovative applications for government, Fortune 500 companies, automotive manufacturing, and ICT organizations. The innovative and strategic position of Idea People achieved an award which ranked the organization as the #5 top developer in the world (#1 in Canada) in the “Lotus Sametime - Power to Drive Partner Competition – 1999.”
Residing in Kelowna, Eric supports his community volunteering and providing social responsibility insights for We Day, Food Banks, and with membership in the (44 years) Royal Canadian Legion Branch 272 Cambridge, Ontario.
