    Dr. Dorothy Valcarcel Craig is a Professor of Education in the Department of Educational Leadership at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro Tennessee (USA) and is a member of the Honors Faculty and Graduate Faculty (1996-present). She currently directs the Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with Concentration and Professional Licensure in English as a Second Language--an accredited online program for public school teachers. She teaches courses within the program focusing on second language acquisition, cultural aspects of literacy and language learning, the immigrant experience, content and literacy instructional methods for ESL, appropriate assessments and evaluation accommodations for second language learners in U.S. public school classrooms, professional collaboration between ESL and regular education teachers, ESL and Biingual law, and action research for classroom practitioners. Dr. Craig is an online course developer and instructor and holds the Certified Online Instructor and the Certified Online Faculty Developer Certificates. She has also completed training in using and applying the Quality Matters Rubric for online course development and delivery. Dr. Craig's research has been published in the Journal of Online Learning, Tennessee Educational Leadership, TN TESOL Journal, Journal of Learning Through the Arts, International Journal of the Book, Teacher Librarian: The Journal for School Library Professionals, International Journal of Learning, Work-Based Learning in Primary Care, International Journal of Technology, Knowledge, and Society, Higher Learning Magazine, International Journal of Instructional Technology & Distance Learning, Journal of Online Learning, International Journal of Education Technology Systems, Early Childhood Education Journal and Tennessee Business. Her work was included in the publication, Forging Alliances in Community and Thought: Research in Professional Development Schools. Dr. Craig's book, Action Research Essentials was published in 2009 by Wiley and Sons, a division of Josey-Bass Publishers.
