I have had a variety of academic experiences through the years that have taken me on some interesting adventures. I began my teaching in the Mid West of USA at the University of South Dakota. Here I began my passion for policy and issues surrounding Adult and Higher Education. Following my time there, I returned to my home city and began teaching at the University of Calgary in Canada. While there, I was able to arrange a visiting scholar appointment in Australia for one year. The institution I was able to work at was The University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba, Australia. After a year in Australia, I returned to my post at the University of Calgary. A new opportunity opened up for me in 2011 where I accepted a new position at Georgia Southern University in the USA. I am currently actively involved in research exploring the link between higher education and economic development - especially in developing countries.
