Colleen Sharpe has been a professional curator for more than a decade. Previously a curator at The Nickle Arts Museum. She was responsible for numerous exhibitions, including the showcase exhibition "Ancient Peru Unearthed, Golden Treasures of a Lost Civilization" that premiered at The Nickle Arts Museum in September 2006. Colleen is a producing member and past Executive Chair of NUTV Campus Community Television and is a documentary filmmaker. Her film "Wake of a War Bride" has been screened at film festivals and museums across Canada and was nominated for an Alberta Motion Pictures Industry Association award in 2007. Colleen was named by Calgary Inc. as a "Top 40 Under 40" in September 2007 and University of Calgary Internationalization Achievement Award in 2008. Colleen has been a board member for several arts boards in Calgary, including Truck Gallery and Alberta Media Arts Alliance. Colleen is currently curating "Art in Service of War" for The Military Museums and "Gallery Without Walls" at The Art Gallery of Calgary. Colleen is an alumni of The University of Calgary where she obtained a BA in Archaeology and minor in Museum and Heritage Studies in 1998. She spent a number of years in South Africa working with AFS (American Field Service) and obtained her MA in Heritage Studies from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
