Cliff Shin is an award winning designer and Assistant Professor of Industrial Design in the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. He received a B.S. in manufacturing engineering technology from Arizona State University and M.A. in industrial design from Purdue University. He worked for LG Headquarters Design Center as a senior industrial designer with expertise in consumer electronics. Leveraging his undergraduate degree in Manufacturing Engineering and his Masters in Industrial Design the diversity and depth of his research achievements are impressive. Examples of this include his engagement in multidisciplinary projects across campus involving collaborators in Mechanical Science and Engineering, Neuroscience, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Kinesiology, Consumer Science Agriculture and Advertising among others. He has served as a judge for 2010 and 2012 International Housewares Student design competition and 23rd Appliance Design Annual Excellence in Design. He actively engages in consulting for designing in consumer electronics.
