  Chris Hickey is a Professor of Health and Physical Education and Chair of the Academic Board at Deakin University, Australia. His research is broadly focused on the ways in which gendered identities are theorised and researched in the broad domains of sport and education. Against this backdrop he has recently conducted research progjects investigating the professionalisation of women's cricket and football at the elite levels. He is editor-in chief of Curriculum Studies in Health and Physical Education and is a Life Member of the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
