  I am a research fellow at the Oriental Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. I graduated from Charles University, Prague, specializing in the Arabic language and the history and culture of Islamic countries (Ph.D. in 2005). My research focuses mainly on medieval Islamic thought, especially mysticism (Sufism). I am author and co-author of several monographs devoted to Islamic society and a number of translations from Arabic into Czech. Currently, I am preparing a scholarly monograph focused on the sources, context and instrumentalization of the ISIS apoalyptic propaganda.
