I have started my career at the Middle East Technical University where I taught intensive English classes before moving on to Bilkent University to teach at the MA TEFL Program funded by the Fulbright commision and Bilkent University to teachers who were from different parts of Turkey. I had the good fortune of having Ted Rogers as my boss. I am currently working at Gazi University, ELT Dept. Ankara where I started to teach in a preservice context 18 years ago. I have been involved in curriculum and coursebook writing for the Ministry of National Education since 2006. I teach EFL methodology to third year and fourth year teacher trainees. My research for the past ten years include emotional appraisals of learning tasks, teaching language inductively, personal development issues and narrative inquiry. I am a certified trainer of NLP and enjoy teaching an MA course in addition to letting my undergraduate students get a taste of it. My professional interests further include training teachers at tertiary and secondary levels, using drama and sharing stories of teachers' personal practical knowledge
