  Dr. Baiju P. Vareed is a social work educator with twenty years of social work practice and teaching experience in India and Canada. He currenlty work as Assitnat Professor in Social Work in MacEwan Univesity, Edmonton, Canada. He holds PhD in social work, and Masters in Social Work, Sociology and Economics. His field experiences include working for livelihood promotion, gender and development, health development, local governance and community based organizations.He taught various social work courses for eighteen years,  developed curriculum, guided researches and supervised field practicum. His areas of research interests are participatory development, post-colonialism, immigration and geender and development. Dr. Baiju had been a consultant with many NGOs and government department in program planning and capacity development of staff. He finished (2016) a research on domestic violence among immigrant families in Central Alberta, Canada.
