Dr. Barbara Torre Veltri, Associate Professor in the College of Education at Northern Arizona University (USA) is the author of the award-winning book, Learning on Other People’s Kids: Becoming a Teach For America Teacher, (Information Age Publishers, 2010) and numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. She initated the inaugural education track semester abroad where she collaborated with elementary and middle school teachers in Italy. Her research interests include alternative pathways to teaching, education reform policies, children's visual art that informs practice of social studies' teaching, and sports-themed curriculum. She has presented at numerous conferences including, AERA, ECER, International Conference of Critical Education, AACTE, World Arts, Education and Culture Congress in Delhi, India, among others. She teaches undergraduates in Curriculum, Social Studies Methods and Doctoral Students in Contexts of Schooling and Professional Problems of Teachers.
