Dr. Miller was born in England from Jamaican parentage, was raised in Montego Bay until her family relocated to the states, and is the proud single-parent to daughter, Brittany. Dr. Miller holds a faculty appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor for Nursing. She is a member of the Coordination Evaluation team for accreditation. Dr. Miller received her Ph.D. in Nursing from Barry University, her Master’s in Nursing Education from Nova Southeastern University, and her Bachelors in Nursing from Florida International University. She worked 12 years for Jackson Health Systems, specializing in Pediatric medical-surgical; Head Start quality assurance nursing; and Pediatric Liver and Gastrointestinal Transplant nursing coordination with the Miami Transplant Institute. Professionally, she is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau, International, Nursing Honor Society, Lambda Chi and Pi Alpha Chapters and the Florida Nurses Association, Southeast Region. Dr. Miller’s program of research is in the field of Oral Health and Preventive Health Care for underprivileged, underserved children. Dr. Miller’s advocacy for Pediatric healthcare led to receiving the prestigious Nursing Excellence Award for Pediatric Service, Jackson Health Systems, 2007; Sigma Theta Tau International, Lambda Chi, Educational Scholarship Award, 2011; and ICABA® Salutes South Florida’s 100 Most Accomplished Caribbean-Americans Award, 2012.
