...MoreI am Human Geographer by training and my current research entails studying the production of urban public spaces of Kolkata- one of the core metropolitan cities of India, that carries a rich colonial legacy. I attempt to gather a holistic understanding of the complexities of urban landscapes in the South Asian context by studying its material and socio-spatial practices, as well as a temporal-experiential basis.My research interests lie largely in the fields of Cultural Studies, Urban Studies, South Asian Urbanisms and Postcolonial Studies. My role as one of the editors in a collaborative webzine –Cultural Cartographies of Media (http://mltspaces.blogspot.in/) is a conscious effort to engage in alternate representations of academic knowledge.
