Dr Annamaria Paolino completed her PhD at Edith Cowan University (ECU) in 2013 and is currently an academic within the School of Education. Prior to working at ECU Annamaria was a primary school teacher for 20 years specialising in Italian and Music. She established many successful programs and was awarded a number of scholarships which allowed her the opportunity to study overseas. Annamaria was a school leader as well as a leader in Languages and Music education. This leadership role has extended into her position as Languages specialist at ECU. Annamaria enjoys a range of research interest’s in particular interdisciplinary research in Languages and Arts. Currently, she is exploring ideas for future research collaboration in these areas with the University of Leeds. Annamaria has published her work in a number of academic journals and has been an invited speaker at state, national and international conferences. She is a reviewer for the Australian Journal of Teacher Education and is currently supervising five PhD students.
