Andy is a senior lecturer, researcher and Programme Director of Interior & Environmental Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (DJCAD) University of Dundee, Scotland UK. He has taught at creative institutions across Scotland and worked in industry for NRS Architects’ and in a commercial capacity for the Royal Incorporation of Architects’ in Scotland. He is the UK Coordinator for GIDE Group for International Design Education and led the international Border Crossings collaboration. A Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and an RSA Fellow, his published work includes architectural narratives, function & fabrication, ‘domestechtopias’ (e.g. the collision of domestic, technological and utopian experiences) and televisual spatial occupation. Innovations in e-learning and internationalization are featured in the UK CEBE Centre for Education in the Built Environment. Funded research projects include flexible dwellings for ageing populations, behaviour change in the workplace and urban green spaces. Andy is co-editor of ‘Design in Action / Celebration’ (2015), ‘Interior Tools, Interior Tactics (2011)‘ and ‘Thinking inside the Box: A Reader in Interiors for the 21st Century’, (2007). He has been on various international review panels including the IDEA URBAN+INTERIOR Journal (2015) and Interior Futures (2011).
