Anne Eggebert’s practice reflects on the problem of trying to picture place as a means of a subjective connection to the other-in-place. She has been recently co-curated with Almut Rink an exhibition at the Korea Culture House in Vienna concerned with Foucault’s examination of ‘care of the self’ and as part of Rink’s major research project on non-Eurocentric orientation in the 21st century. Ongoing research questions are how the distinction between finding and losing one's sense of place might be blurred, how we imagine or intervene in each other's idea of place, and what our shared or differing landscapes might reveal about our sense of place in the world. Anne Eggebert is also interested in the potential of collaboration and the shared ground of publicness as space for the production of sustainable communities of practice for young artists.
