Anahit Falihi is a researcher, visual artist, and educator with professional teaching experience at the university, college, and community level. She combines personal and work experience in the field of migration and community development with academic teaching and research. Anahit is the program director of a settlement and integration support services provider, Saskatoon Open Door Society, Saskatchewan, Canada. Anahit completed a master's degree in Educational Foundations and PhD in Educational Administration and Leadership from the university of Saskatchewan with a focus on migration, diversity, community education and leadership. Her PhD dissertation explores the perspectives of mid-level community leaders on culturally responsive child and family support services, focusing on community development strategies in a changing environment and the role of leadership within a learning community. Anahit's publications and research involvement emphasize diversity, cross-cultural literacy, and community and leadership development. As a visual artist, Anahit has worked in variety of areas such as painting, fiber, digital and mixed media, sculpture, and furniture. As an art instructor and researcher, her interests include critical visual literacy and instructional design. Anahit also holds a Master of Fine Arts and worked with the art departments of several feature films and television series as costume designer and art director.
