Dr. Amir M. Kamel is Lecturer (tenure-track Assistant Professor equivalent) in the Defense Studies Department and Associate Staff Member in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies, both in King's College London, UK. Amir also currently holds the role of a Visiting Scholar in Georgetown University, US' School of Foreign Service. His interests lie in the overlap between economics and politics, and how one impacts the other. His latest book which conducts a theoretical and empirical analysis of EU trade and peace in Iraq and Iran, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in July 2015. He also has over five years combined experience of providing consultative work for various government agencies, economic and political international consultancies, policy NGOs, and other universities.
