International Conference on «Enhancing the Skills and Identity of Cultural Mediators in a multicultural Europe» (ESΙ-CM 2014)

We cordially invite you to the International Conference on «Enhancing the skills and the identity of a Cultural Mediator in a multicultural Europe» (ESΙ-CM 2014), hosted by Hellenic Open University in Patras, Greece, on 8th – 9th January 2014 supported by theSONETOR project.

The conference will include invited presentations by experts from academia, industry, and government as well as contributed presentations describing original work on the current state of research and ongoing activities in cultural mediation and related issues.

The final conference, organized in Patras, will promote the project results and the outcomes of the project and define exploitation and sustainability policies. It will give the chance to design possible future exploitation scenarios for the activities and products developed during the SONETOR life cycle. The final plenary international workshop will not only demonstrate the results of the project but will familiarize potential stakeholders with the Cultural Mediators’ platform, explaining them how they can interact, exchange information and contribute to content.

In addition, the Conference will show case the results of SONETOR project, which has been funded by the Leonardo da Vinci/Lifelong Learning Programme (http://www.sonetor-project.eu/). Among them Cultural Mediator draft profile and the peer learning platform will be demonstrated (http://www.culturalmediators.eu/).

ESΙ-CM 2014 welcomes participation of Cultural Mediators, social workers and researchers who interact with immigrants and people from immigrant communities, educational institutions and training centers (students), NGOs and voluntary organizations, Public administration and local authorities, Certification bodies.
