Updating Your Profile in CGScholar

This guide will walk you through how to update your profile and biography in CGScholar. It is important to keep your profile up to date as your affiliations are used in Conference Programs that you attend and present in. The first time you set up a CGScholar account, you will be prompted to complete a form with all of these settings. This guide is for updating that information.

Step One:


You can log into CGScholar using this link


Step Two:


Navigate to your "Account Settings" to update your information. Click on your name with the drop-down arrow and select "Account Settings."


Step Three:


Update your profile using the Pencil "Edit" icons next to the respective fields. This is where you can also link your website, ORCID ID, and more.


Step Four:


Navigate to your Affiliations. Please list your previous and current scholarly and professional experience. This is not limited to academic institutions; you are welcome to list the place of work or project which bests describes your research. Next, place the date when you began in this position, and for current your current affiliation, select "Present". Please note that only your current affiliation will be listed in the conference program. Thus, please complete at least the entry dedicated to your current affiliation. Lastly, record this entry by clicking "Save".


Step Five:


Navigate to Interests and add your professional and scholarly interests. These may be fields that you work in, or just fields that you have an interest in. This is also where you can specify the languages that you speak and work in.


Step Six:


Navigate to your Contact information. Add any email addresses that you would like associated with your CGScholar account. You will need to confirm each email address in order to use it for password resets etc. You can designate an email address as your "Primary" one to receive communications there. Please also list your institutional contact address. Please note that only the city, state/province, and country of your current contact information will be listed in the conference program. Thus, please complete at least the entry dedicated to your current affiliation. 


Step Seven:


Navigate to your Preferences & Security to change your password and update your privacy settings. 


Step Eight:


Select the Pencil "Edit" button next to Emails in your Preferences & Security section to update your email notification preferences. Check the boxes next to the types of communication you would like to receive via email. Lastly, record these settings by clicking "Save".

When you Submit a Proposal or Register for an Event, you will be prompted to confirm your account details on a screen similar to this one:
