Abstract
For centuries, museums have been a resource for cultural knowledge and exploration. They serve as conduits to the past, as they engage visitors in a unique and tangible way in the present. Museums can evoke discovery and wonder; if one has access to them. The Virtual Fieldtrip program at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum aims to increase access to culture and knowledge; not only for the disenfranchised here in America but also for individuals around the world. By creating a unique online space, each fieldtrip is a journey through culture unlike any other; empowering learners all over the globe to understand through experience and ownership.
