Abstract
This is a workshop presentation of creative cultural mapping as a method for new museums to connect with the city and its people. The session is build around taking Jakarta and Greater Jakarta as a study case where Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara (MACAN) was introduced and opened to the public in November 2017. In less than two years, the museum has received almost 500,000 visitors. This presentation shares our experience of the museum’s journey to a make place into people’s hearts.
