The Art of Diplomacy: Using Cultural Objects as a Bridge to Understanding

Abstract

The U.S. Department of State office of Cultural Heritage uses a wide and varied collection of art and objects to aid in the role of cultural diplomacy. As chief curator, I help guide the use of these collections to make international relationships between art, artist, and foreign governments. In this session, we will discuss how we work with the collections and relationships we create through its service.
