Abstract
This study delves into the captivating evolution of photography, tracing its trajectory from early hoaxes to the modern era of high-tech AI composites and editing. The paper unravels the historical significance of photography hoaxes, which have been ubiquitous since the dawn of photography. AI represents the latest technology applied to photo manipulation. By examining the rise of AI technology in photo editing, we explore its profound influence on contemporary image manipulation and the emergence of modern photo hoaxes. Through the lens of art and technology, we navigate the intricate relationship between creativity, deception, and innovation in photography. Focusing on the evolution of visual storytelling, we uncover how AI is reshaping the boundaries of reality and fiction, challenging traditional notions of authenticity in imagery.
