Life Expansion: Edited Worlds, Autobiography and Visual Narratives in Everyday Life

Abstract

This paper reflects on how the image has been a powerful resource in the autobiographical process in the construction of the identity of modern subjects. The work observes the practices of visual culture in the context of the end of the 20th century and in the first decades of the 21st century, when the digital technological landscape spreads across the globe. Through a bibliographic review and case study analysis, the study analyzes the future of the image as an artifact that develops subjectivities and the respective impacts on the scenario of blogs, Instagram and artificial intelligence.
