Abstract
The research is a visual discourse analysis of 280 images of public demonstrations of women in Mexico, Argentina, and Chile between the years 2015 and 2020 that highlights how images are intertwined with strategic forms of political organization and communication from civil society movements. The research offers input on how public demonstrations and protests use images to create community and to materialize different forms of violence that women in Latin America suffered, but also as a way to enable agency and autonomy and resignify gender roles assigned to women.
