How to Coach Wellness Competencies at Work to Foster Psychological Health and Safety

Abstract

The changes at work due to Covid-19 have been overwhelming for everyone. The psychological wellness of employees is being impacted negatively as fears and uncertainties increase. As we prepare for even more changes in the aftermath of an increasingly automated workplace, it is important to prepare for the psychological, emotional, and mental wellness impact. These changes will require HR professionals to foster a positive workplace where employees are well and feel safe enough to be creative and innovative in an increasingly competitive marketplace. In this study, we look at a marriage of wellness coaching competencies and the national standards for Psychological Health and Safety at work to foster a culture of relational well-being and wellness at work to maximize performance.
