Abstract
The centralization of work has experienced the hardening of working conditions and the family reconciliation of European workers (Srnicek, 2018). It is in this situation that there has been a stagnation in the number of physical activity practitioners in Europe (European Commission, 2014, 2018). Thus, companies in industrialized societies have detected the possibilities offered by health planning to achieve their goals (Pronk, 2009a, 2009b; Sorensen & Quintiliani, 2009; Whitmer, 2009). However, the disparity of publications of the work that includes the workplace health promotion programs (WHP) planning models makes analysis and choice difficult. For this purpose, a systematic and critical review of the WHPs located in the literature was carried out to examine them qualitatively and establish novel ideas towards public sports policies. A formal search in the Spanish, English and French languages using PubMed, SportDiscus, Crochrane, Web of Science and Dialnet databases, as well as manual searches in the International Association for Worksite Health Promotion and the European Network for Workplace Health Promotion until August 2019. Fourteen WHP planning models (n = 14) were recruited and classified for further analysis. The models presented very general methodologies and found great variability. The formation of a more specific WHP planning model could help increase the number of physical activity practitioners in Europe and improve conciliation.
