Abstract
Melanie Klein was a brilliant psychoanalyst who remarkably studied closely how envy could generate psychologyical discomfort in several degrees. I apply her principles of psychoanalytic thought in relation with Otto Kernberg’s self and object theory and Jacques Lacan concepts on language. I’ve been studying new findings in how envy operates in patients with severe personality disorders (borderline personality organization) and, particularly, eating disorders. I started this research with a clinical foundation for eating disorders and afterwards in individual clinical practice.
