Abstract
This paper discusses data gathered during a doctoral research study with Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual clinicians working with Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual clients. The data and discussion is based on their experience of minority stress (chronically high levels of stress faced by members of stigmatized minority groups), counter transference and burn out. The study also explores ways that counter transference and burn out can be diminished, as well as ways this information can be applied to others in caring professions.
