Abstract
The evolution of technology has allowed new forms of teaching-learning to materialize, such as digital platforms, among them, blogs and sites. In this context, the “Alimente o Futuro” (AOF) digital platform has emerged as an important educational tool for mothers, whose objective is to provide scientific content, clearly related to healthy eating, focusing on the ingestion of essential nutrients during the childhood, such as micronutrients. The objective of this work is to describe the importance of the far-reaching digital educational platform AOF as a way to contribute to public health by minimizing micronutrient deficiency in children. In 2018, the educational content of the platform impacted about 40 million people in Latin America through the website (which brings together approximately 40 thousand visits a month) and media actions to amplify reach in social networks. Topics such as the importance of micronutrients, counseling mothers on how to obtain them through healthy food and enriched foods. Campaigns are also conducted with targeted content on the importance of reading food labels (“Compare and Choose”) and the importance of micronutrient enrichment in preventing nutritional deficiencies in the population. It will be developed, surveys to measure the effect of the platform on the nutritional education of mothers, evaluating the recommendation and practical adequacy of content, satisfaction and observed difficulties. In this way, it is believed that the digital education tool can contribute to a better, transformative society, instructing mothers to ensure the adequate contribution of micronutrient deficiencies and thus to help the full development of children.
