Abstract
There are approximately 34 stables, studs and equestrian centers in the Kraków metropolitan area. Most of them are private facilities, generating income and the ability to operate thanks to a number of services that they offer - boarding houses for horses, recreational and sports riding, organization of equestrian competitions or holiday camps. To ensure the continuity of operations and high-level customer service for these types of facilities, large energy and financial expenditures are needed for heating purposes e.g. heating social rooms, cloakrooms, saddles and lighting of riding halls, outdoor squares and servicing of riding infrastructure. Equestrian centers are usually located outside the city center, where it is not possible to provide heating of the facility from the municipal heating or gas network. This study considers an alternative and often the only solution to ensure the functioning of such facilities is electrical supply and options for the future.
