Persian Garden: Impact on Urban Design of Current Cities

Abstract

The old core of Iranian cities, which contains the identity and originality of the cities, encompasses the old neighborhoods of the city that have been affected by major changes today, and the ongoing trend toward day-to-day identities and social problems is continuing. However, while the old district of Tehran, with respect to its gardens in the past, has the potential to enhance urban quality. The garden has been a fruitful and non-fruitful gardener of Tehran’s urban fabric. By combining other elements of the city, such as neighborhoods, schools, mosques, etc., you bring social and ecological stability to the city. Now, the main question of this study is: Can the identity of the city be helped by the continuation of the Iranian garden in the contemporary period to reach the Islamic Iranian city and with the needs of today’s society? The method of this research is descriptive and analytical and the method of data collection is documentary, library, and field. According to the obtained information and the perspective of Tehran city, the results show that the application of the garden-neighborhood model has an important role in enhancing the environmental quality and can reduce the occurrence of abnormalities by applying the appropriate approach.
